Ladies, raise your hand if you made the first move on your husband. That’s exactly what Jeanine did with Thomas her senior year of high school when she realized prom was quickly approaching. She knew Thomas from middle school, but decided to message him on Facebook to reconnect and with the hope that would take her to prom. They didn’t end up going to prom together, but they did continue to date and just last month, they got married!
Once Thomas found the perfect ring, he couldn’t wait to ask Jeanine to marry him. Literally! He went straight to her parents’ house, asked for permission, and then drove all the way to Sacramento without any proposal plan. Jeanine arrived home late after a long night class, had some dinner with her roommates, and went to her room to study. After a couple knocks and a phone call, she answered her front door to find Thomas standing there beaming with a bouquet of roses and tons of poinsettia lining the doorway. She had no idea he was proposing until he started talking. Thomas got down on one knee and the rest, as they say, is history.
After hearing their story and spending time with them during their engagement shoot, it was abundantly clear how much love was radiating through the two of them for each other and the Lord. They are the real deal, guys!
On their wedding day, I was able to see that same love shining through each of their family and friends. Confession: I might have shed a tear when I saw the way they looked at each other for the first time when Jeanine started down the aisle. The day went off without a hitch because of all of their amazing family and friends. Clearly, these two are deeply loved by so many people!
The room laughed, cried, and danced the whole night long. Even Jeanine’s 93-year-old great-grandma got jiggy on the dance floor!
Congrats Thomas and Jeanine! It is undeniable that Christ was already at the center of your marriage. I can’t wait to see your story unfold throughout the years!
